Glowing light boxes and sophisticated finishes

Fabrication into 3-D shapes, integrated lighting, pattern and finish options open up design possibilities that resonate with the brand and its purpose.

Designed by Focus Architects, this stunningly crystalline reception desk features clear Scintilla panels with edge-illumination. While flat panels form the face of the desk, a folded, U-shaped piece was created for the transaction top and return. The entire assembly was pre-fabricated along with the lighting and shipped to site for easy installation.

Designed by Ronnette Riley Architects, this welcome desk face is clad with Ripple Motif panels featuring a charming pearlescent pattern that wraps 3-sides of the desk.

GREC architects re-envisioned Chicago’s Odyssey cruise ship with a remodel that includes glass-clad Lumina™ panels as illuminated bar faces on the ship’s three levels. Programmable LED edge lighting provides the option to color these panels to any hue in the spectrum so as to create different moods for a variety of events and occasions.

In an eye-catching design by BSA LifeStructures, monolithic, light-emitting terrazzo desk wraps were custom cast for the reception desks of UC Steadman.

The counter faces have a welcoming appeal and set the stage for an unrivaled experience in this state-of-the-art health center in Colorado.

The counters were provided as a complete solution with hardware and lighting, ready to be installed.

Edges and Corners

Precise dimensional fabrication results in coherent centerpieces that define the atmosphere. The counter face, through seamless transitions wraps around the corners or becomes the transaction top.

For an elegant Ed Vance and Associates, Las Vegas design we custom cast Sensitile Terrazzo™ slabs with mitered edges and reveals to create the face and top of a reception desk. We then shipped the slabs as a kit-of-parts that were assembled on site to create monolithic and interactive surfaces.

This Perkins+Will design of the prestigious JLABS@Toronto uses Jali Cascata to clad the centerpiece “Ice Bar” counter face in the common area and conference room. Material was provided to finish size as a kit of parts for easy installation. Thermoformed to conform to the curved apex of the “V” and mitered and wrapped detailing create a seamless flow of material as it transitions from one plane to another over the millwork.

Shapes and Curves

Terrazzo can be cast into precise shapes and curves while resin can be thermoformed and fabricated to specified forms.

Jali desks in iridescent gold tones add a touch of cheer to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reception. For this FKP design, the 3D desk assemblies were provided prefabricated to final size, and shipped as a kit-of-parts to fit like a glove on the desk millwork. The smooth transitions of the wrapped corners are comfortable to the touch and the durable surface, easy to maintain.

In this Hunton Brady Architects redesign of Tupperware’s corporate office in Florida, the main reception desk features curved ScintillaⓇ Bold panels as their face.

2-D Shapes, Patterns and Colors

Fabrication of resin materials or custom casting of terrazzo into specified 2-D shapes can impart a fresh dimension to the most visible face of a counter.

In this Bennett Design Group specification, Jali Origami adorns the reception desk counter face for the office of Jacob White Construction in Texas. The clear mirror back of the panel adds depth while concealing the underlying millwork. The panel was provided in the finish size and trapezoid shape for a perfect fit in the receiving surface of the desk face. Ambient light is picked up by the organic Origami pattern and enhances it.
