1155 Avenue of Americas
New York, NY
Designed by Studios Architecture and lighting designers Cline Bettridge Bernstein, our terrazzo lumina slabs grace the walls of the main circulation lobby at 1155 Avenue of the Americas. These slabs meet the stringent requirements of the LEED office building, offering energy efficiency and durability with minimal maintenance needs.
The expansive space boasts 40 luminous slabs, each measuring 4' x 8', complemented by an additional 80 smaller unlit panels that frame the area. To engender an immersive visual experience, a bespoke gradient pattern of light emission was meticulously tailored for each slab and seamlessly integrated between them, resulting in a visually captivating display.
Cleverly engineered, the solution facilitates effortless maintenance, allowing for easy servicing without necessitating slab removal but simply accessing the lighting that is concealed by mullions between panels.
